The Kiosk can be a renovation of an existing building as shown above, new build or temporary structure. Gutting out an old building and refurbishing will not normally require planning permission unless you are changing the use of the building. Supplying equipment would generally not alter use of say a bowls pavilion, but changing the layout to serve food and beverages would. New builds would require full architects drawings and obviously would need full planning permission. One way to get planning on your side and to speed up the process is by having a temporary structure put in place . If the kiosk is just for handing balls and putters then a temporary structure such as GRP, SIP, Timber or Converted Container will likely get approved fairly quickly With temporary buildings, what’s best for your site, will depend on the location and your requirements . Converted containers are suitable for many locations. They can be installed in site sensitive areas that may be isolated or prone to potential vandalism. Temporary style structures that can be pre built off site include Containers and GRP. Their size can be increased to suit your requirements so if you want it to double up as a cafe or bar then these can be designed and built to your needs. Extra units can be bolted together and fitted out with electrics and plumbing, For locations such as leisure parks, garden centres or indoors then the requirements are slightly less stringent. As such timber or SIP builds can prove adequate for your and the councils needs.
Umbrellas or shade sails are a must for the outdoor patios, especially in the UK! These provide a welcome relief from the rain or heat the day. There’s even a couple of courses in the UK that use shade sails on the mini golf courses themselves!
We provide solid patios using decorative block pavers as this
proves to be the best solution for drainage and high wear areas.
Starter hut shown on above left at Aces mini golf Gloucester. Being in a garden centre this type of hut fits in perfectly with the surrounds. There’s a shed supplier right next door! There’s only a small patio but its sufficient as there is no refreshments served. Left, picked up this design from a search (give the artist credit!) Superb Conceptual Container Kiosk/ cafe shown with viewing platform at the the top and seating below. The top seating would give a great view of the course and for barracking other players. This type of kiosk is gaining popularity due in part, to the fact that this is classed as a temporary structure.
